For campouts greater than 50 miles each way, the Scouters and Scouts are expected to pay a fee (click here for mileage expense chart) for each 50 mile increment each way if they or their parents are not driving.
The adult drivers which are carrying a load of Scouts or equipment will receive an equal portion of the money collected. The money will be put directly into the Scouters account. The adult pulling the Troop trailer will get double the mileage because of the extra wear and tear and gas to pull the trailer.
If we have an over abundance of drivers for a campout, the Campmaster or Scoutmaster may ask some of the adults to leave their vehicles at the church to conserve resources. If they still wish to drive they may not get reimbursed for mileage costs. |
