Things that need to occur
when we ARRIVE at Camp

Side note:  This year our troop will be occupying both Fremont and Dodge. The Panther patrol will be camping in Dodge and the rest of the troop in Fremont.   Fremont will be the base of operations for the whole troop.  We will assemble before meals and in the mornings at the flag pole in Fremont.  Panther’s you will need to get started a little earlier as you will need to get your flag raised in the proper fashion prior to joining the troop in Fremont (I know you want to sleep in, but that’s the price for getting your own campsite).

  1.  We will meet our camp commissioner and he will inspect our tents & cots to make sure everything is in good order.  If you notice that your cot or tent is torn or broke, please let us know right away so we can make note of it and not get charged for it.

  2. Scouts will unload their campbox, take it to their tent and immediately change into your swim suits DO NOT UNPACK, DO NOT GO EXPLORING!.  Once you have changed,  assemble as a troop at the flag pole and the troop along with Mrs Russell and the health forms will head to the pool for health re-check and swim test.

  3. Mr. Wood and the Adults will proceed to the commissioners cabin for adult check in

  4. Mr Stevens  & Myself will head to the camp office to check in with camp rosters, mic-o-say paperwork and pay any outstanding fees for late additions.

  5. Adults,  Fremont has 2 leaders cabins, one will be designated for men and the other for women,  Dodge has 1 leader cabin that will be designated for men.   Men, if you have a preference as to which leader cabin you are in, please let me know.  Tom Stevens will be heading up the cabin in Dodge.  Also, I believe we will likely have a couple of extra tents in both camps if there are any adults who would prefer a tent over the cabin.

  6. Once you have completed all of this you are free to return to your tent and begin unpacking.  Remember we operate by the buddy system at camp so don’t go taking off on your own.  Let an adult know where you are going and take a buddy.

  7. At 4:00pm there will be a scoutmasters meeting at the dining hall for Mr. Wood and Myself.

  8. That evening we will enjoy the first of many fine gourmet camp meals!  If you are interested in signing up for COPE or Watersports, pay close attention at dinner as sign ups are typically right after dinner.
