Pack List
3-day
Backpacking Trek

The following is a suggested packing list for
a 3-day backpacking trek.
Adjust clothing slightly for a longer trek (1 extra pr. socks, T-shirt,
underpants).
Clothing: Does NOT include the
clothes you wear the 1st day out.
- 1 T-shirt (nylon best)
- 1 sleeping only cotton T-shirt, packed in sleeping bag
- 1 pr. pants (nylon best for weight and dries quickly)
- 1 pr. hiking boots (sturdy soles with good ankle support)
- 1 pr. camp shoes (lightweight, comfortable)
(unless special permission given, no open toe shoes are allowed on campouts)
- 1 pr. heavy socks (wool type)
- 2 pr. sock liners (a must!)
- 1 pr. underpants (boxer type will help prevent rashes)
- 1 bandana (general utility with no weight)
- 1 hat (best are breathable, wide rimmed to protect ears from sunburn )
- (opt.) a stocking cap for keeping your head warm when sleeping
- 1 jacket or sweater (needs to be warm, such as Polarfleece)
- 1 rain suit (pants/jacket best, needs to be lightweight and easy to get on

packed in Ziploc bags placed inside pack. Raingear, hat, jacket &
shoes accessed outside backpack.
